A |     (ECNS) -- The 6th Qinghai-Xizang Plateau Development Forum opened on Tuesday in Haiyan County, Haibei Zang Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China’s Qinghai Province.    Co-hosted by the China Tibetology Research Center, leading academic institutions and local governments, the two-day event brought together nearly 50 senior officials and prominent scholars from major universities and research institutes.        Participants held in-depth discussions on promoting long-term stability and high-quality development across the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau under the framework of the Chinese path to modernization.    Key topics included protecting the region as a vital national ecological security barrier, improving local livelihoods, promoting high-quality population development, integrating the development of national parks with surrounding communities, advancing rural revitalization following ecological relocation, and fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.    The forum aims to provide practical, evidence-based policy recommendations to support sustainable and locally adapted modernization across the plateau.     (By Helen Mo, intern Lin Qiaochu)                    。    Dhaka, Oct 20 (UNI) Due to the Russia-Ukraine war, the world economy is in turmoil. This war has a direct impact on the European Union (EU) countries. In spite of such a situation, the garment industry of Bangladesh is giving hopeful news.
In the seven months from January to July this year, Bangladesh's garment exports to EU countries increased by 43.38 per cent. And EU imports from the rest of the world increased by 24.74 per cent. Accordingly, Bangladesh is at the top of all in the growth of garment exports to the EU.
Such information has emerged in the import statistics published by the European statistical agency "Eurostat EU".
According to the statistics, in the first seven months of 2022, Bangladesh's clothing exports to the EU countries were $13.16 billion. Compared to the same period of last year, exports have increased by 43.38 per cent. In the first seven months of last year, Bangladesh exported garments to the EU worth $9.76 billion.
According to Eurostat, EU imports from the world grew by 22.7 percent at this time in 2022 compared to imports up to July 2021. Among them, EU countries' clothing imports from China in the last seven months reached $14.93 billion with a growth of 23.52 per cent.
Turkey is in the next position. The country exported $7 billion worth of goods. Through this, the country is positioned after Bangladesh. Through this amount of exports, the country's growth has increased by 17.32 per cent.
According to data, India has exported $3.17 billion worth of garments to the EU in the first seven months of this year. Through this, the country's growth has increased by 26.78 per cent.
Vietnam's exports to the EU dropped significantly during this period. In the first seven months of this year, the country exported $2.3 billion worth of apparel products. During this period, the country's growth increased by 22.78 per cent.
Other countries with significant growth include Cambodia 41.50 per cent, Indonesia 30.86 per cent, Pakistan 28 per cent, Morocco 16.67 per cent and Sri Lanka 14 per cent.
